Q. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?

Troy: NCT Restaurants Inc has opened its first Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen in Hilton Head SC in September 2015.  Since its inception in 1972, Popeye’s has provided a delicious option for lunch and dinner. We are very happy to bring this to the island and surrounding areas. We put our guests first and work hard to ensure their loyalty through great service and quality. Our employees are of great value, and we strive to help them achieve their full potential. We do our best to contribute to our community and help it be a great place to live, work and grow. 

Q. Why are you passionate about your commitment to supporting the United Way of the Lowcountry?

Troy: We at NCT Restaurants Inc have a combined 40 years of supporting the United Way. Our community, employees and their families have benefited greatly from the United Way and associations. The programs along with services are invaluable to our community and we will continue to be proud supporters for years to come.

Q. What is something interesting or surprising that most people don’t know about you?

Troy: At my core I am a fine artist. I was fortunate to spend my high school career attending The School of the Performing and Visual Arts, where I was able to develop my love for art to a higher level. I then was privileged to receive a scholarship to attend the Pennsylvania Governors School for the Arts. Ultimately, I was accepted into the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts where such artists as Winslow Homer attended.    

Q. What would your older self tell your younger self?

Troy: “Be patient. Every experience now is making you into to person you will ultimately be. Trust me you will be grateful for these times.”  

Q. Favorite quote?

 Troy: I have two favorites, each  from Henry Ford and couldn’t decide which so you get both. ” Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.”, and “If you do what you’ve always done you’ll always get what you always got.”
