The Center is a non-profit organization that protects heir’s property and promotes its property and promotes its sustainable  use to provide increased economic benefit to low-wealth families across seven counties (Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown and Jasper). To do this work, the Center provides legal education and direct, legal services to heirs’ property owners, and sustainable forestry education and technical assistance to both heirs’ and non-heirs’ property owners with a minimum of ten forested acres.
