INTENT TO SUBMIT PHASE:  June 1 – June 15

Organizations will have from June 1 until June 15 to complete the online “Intent To Submit” phase, which is required of ALL applicants.

All NEW applicants must attend a mandatory training.  The training will provide an overview of United Way’s Community Impact process, go into detail about the various components required for upload, and show how to navigate the CommunityForce software that is used for the process. The training sessions are scheduled for June 1 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and June 5 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Both trainings for NEW applicants are in person (1277 Ribaut Road, Beaufort, SC 29902).  The June 5 training will be recorded and uploaded for your reference on June 6. Please note that viewing the training recording DOES NOT count as the mandatory training.

If you are a returning agency, the trainings are optional.  Feel free to join us if you need a refresher!

Basic Needs and Economic Mobility: APPLICATION PHASE OPENS JULY 1!

For all agencies who submitted an Intent To Submit, the Application phase within the CommunityForce software will open beginning July 1.  While training is mandatory (for all agencies NOT currently receiving United Way funding), you DO NOT have to attend the training before you begin filling out the application.  The below CommunityForce walk-through guide will help you navigate through the software so that you can begin working on your application immediately.  Please go ahead and begin working on your application when you attend training so that we can answer any specific questions you might have.

APPLICATION PHASE: July 1 – July 31

Organizations will have from July 1 through July 31 to complete the online application phase.  All applicants (except those currently receiving United Way grants) must attend a mandatory training.  A recorded training will be made available for reference purposes on July 12.  This training will provide a comprehensive overview of the application process, as well as a detailed description of the information requested within each individual component of the application.  It will also provide a step-by-step walk through of how to navigate all of the features you will need to complete your online submission with CommunityForce.

Training dates and times:

  • Thursday, June 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (IN PERSON at the United Way office in Beaufort)
  • Tuesday, July 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Brown Bag Via Zoom)

If you are a new organization applying for your first UWLC grant, or have new leadership, you are strongly recommended to attend the in-person training on June 29.  If you are a current funded partner agency, training is optional. 

All registrants will receive the ZOOM link within 48 hours of the training session

After the two scheduled training sessions, you will be provided the opportunity to schedule a 25 minute, one-on-one work session to ask specific questions to increase the quality of your application.  Remember, this is a competitive funding process and only the top scoring programs are placed on panels and are able to receive funding.
