Safe Harbour Assists members with household tasks, transportation, errands, and companionship. Services could include reading to a homebound person or helping to write a letter. Volunteers help those who are no longer able to change lightbulbs, turn mattresses, hang pictures, etc. The organization does not do medical procedures. Program members pay an annual fee. The organization conducts an assessment to ensure that someone isn’t at risk by living at home. Someone who needs care on a daily basis is beyond what Safe Harbour can do. The organization does make seniors aware of other community resources.
