Women United Empowers Local Women with Scholarships Up to $3,000

United Way of the Lowcountry’s Women United is proud to announce the availability of scholarships for non-traditional female students pursuing higher education at the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) or the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB).

These scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $3,000, aim to empower women of all ages who are balancing work, family and their educational goals.

“We are committed to supporting the incredible women in our community who are dedicated to their personal and professional growth,” said Women United Scholarship Committee Co-Chair Gloria Duryea.  “These scholarships are a way to remove some of the financial barriers they may face in achieving their dreams of a college degree.”

The Women United scholarship program is designed for women of all ages who are ready to take the next step in their education. Whether a single mom returning to school, a career changer, or someone looking to enhance their current skills, this scholarship can help women in the Lowcountry achieve their goals.

To be eligible for a scholarship, female students must reside or work in Beaufort or Jasper County, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and have made some contributions to their community through volunteerism. Previous recipients are encouraged to re-apply. Click HERE for an online application. A printable application is available by clicking HERE. The application deadline for the 2023-2024 school year is May 31, 2024.
