HOW YOU CAN HELP US REACH OUR GOAL!

United Way of the Lowcountry brings together people and organizations from all across Beaufort and Jasper counties who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done. We invite you to be a part of the change. You can volunteer, advocate or give. That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED!

  • Encourage Family & Friends to Join You in Supporting United Way! Working together, we can inspire hope and create opportunities or a better life for all. Encourage your friends and neighbors to join you in helping United Way of the Lowcountry meets its goal by March 31 by sharing messages on social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) or in an email. Click here to view several messages in a Word document that you can copy and personalize.
  • Invest in United Way! We all win when children are successful in school, when families are healthy and can support themselves and when people get the help they need. By preventing problems and changing social conditions, we create a stronger and healthier community for everyone. United Way of the Lowcountry recruits people and organizations from across our community who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done. That’s what it means to Live United. We invite you to be a part of the change. Click here to make your annual donation.
  • Volunteer for our Community Impact Review Panels: Our Community Impact Process is one of the things that make us unique!  We ask VOLUNTEERS from the community, who donate to United Way, to tell us how they would like their money invested in the community!  Click here to learn more about how you can become involved!
  • Volunteer to read to a child during the school year: Trained Read Indeed! volunteer reading tutors are matched with children in grades Pre-K through third grade who are identified by school literacy specialists as needing additional help with reading. These are the students who would otherwise fall through the cracks if they did not receive other intervention. Click here if you are interested in becoming a volunteer tutor.
  • Be a greeter at one of our VITA Sites: Dedicated volunteers are needed to help the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program provide free tax preparation services to people with limited incomes. VITA prepares taxes for working families helping them jumpstart their savings, reduce debt and invest in our community. Click here if you are interested in becoming a VITA volunteer greeter. No experience is needed!
  • Help Women United deliver backpacks for students in August: United Way of the Lowcountry Women United offers members the opportunity to be part of a dynamic, philanthropic and fun organization of women leaders who care about our community. Women United’s mission is to mobilize the caring power of women together to advance the common good by focusing on education in the forgotten pockets of Beaufort and Jasper counties.
